Veterinarian
I graduated in the Texas A&M Veterinary class of 1989, “Whoop”, with Dr. Hurst. For many years I was raising kids and doing relief work for several veterinarians in the Bryan/College Station area. This netted me an invitation to work with Dr. Hurst. I fell in love with the practice. It was a great mix of talented staff, good diagnostics, affordable medicine, and an amazing clientele. When Dr. Anderson took over the clinic, I was fortunate to be able to stay on as a part-timer on Thursdays and Fridays.
It’s an amazing privilege to be able to care for family pets. Over the years, I have found that it can be a delicate balancing act. Foremost I need to provide care for the pet, but I also need to consider what the client can afford and what they can fit into their lifestyle. This practice philosophy requires me to develop relationships with my clients and that has brought forth some wonderful encounters and friendships.
I am blessed to have my cute husband as my best cheerleader. Together, we are blessed to have six beautiful children. Of course, most veterinarians have rescued many pets. While we also fit into that category, we have been honored to “rescue” some of our children. They are awesome, amazing, and beautiful. As with the adoption of pets, we think we are saving them, when in fact, they are saving us. Adoption is wonderful.
